Birthdays in the 100 Acres Wood

When is Winnie the Pooh’s Birthday?

There is a lot of confusion here and our silly old bear seems to have two birthdates. A lot of people celebrate his birthday on the 14th of October, as that was the date (14th October 1926) the book "Winnie-the-Pooh" was first printed. That makes our dear old bear 96 years old today!

But, as we read in the book "House at Pooh Corner", Pooh bear was gifted to Christopher Robin Milne on his first birthday, which is August 21, 1920. That makes Pooh a year younger to Christopher Robin. So, Pooh's real birthday falls on August 21st 1921. That makes him 101 years old today!!!
It really doesn't matter which date you follow. For our Pooh bear, it’s the thought that matters...that and lots of honey.........

Eeyore’s Birthday

Eeyore was a Christmas present given to Christopher Robin Milne in 1921. So, we can assume his birthday would fall on 25th December 1921. But, clearly in the stories it’s not Christmas when all the 100 Acre Wood residents celebrate Eeyore's birthday. We think you could then celebrate his birthday on 25th Dec or on any other date that you want to.

Tigger’s Birthday

Our dear old Tigger was born in October 1928, as the book "The House at Pooh Corner" was published around the same date.
